MATCHING COMES ALIVE AT START2MATCH
Villaz-St-Pierre, 17 April 2013 – The third edition of Start2Match was held last 17 April at the industrial development centre Le Vivier, in the Canton of Fribourg.
Start2Match was organised in collaboration between Swiss Business Group, the industrial development centre Le Vivier and the Swiss incubator Venturi.
The event saw the active participation of 120 companies, which were given a real opportunity to meet during the trade show, with the final objective of developing new business synergies.
The number of companies participating guaranteed Start2Match not only a varied presence of the different merchandising sectors to which they all belong (from food to marketing and communication, from textiles to services and many others), but also the participation of important personages and organisations at international level.
There was a numerous presence of Italian companies, which within the framework of the international event met with other Swiss and European realities which completed the audience.
“We want to help companies stand up and fight this crisis full on”. Vincenzo Caci opened the inauguration ceremony with these words. “We want to support companies so they have the necessary means to meet, and establish intense and fruitful business relations, which allow them to develop their own ideas and projects in the global market” concluded the Chairman of Swiss Business Group.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Prefect of Glâne, Willy Schorderet, and the Fribourg Chamber of Commerce delegate, Gregoire Raboud, delivered welcome speeches to all the participants, thus officially opening the discussions.
Start2Match focussed attention on the need to promote companies' own business projects in order to increase visibility and consequently opportunities for success. The key word at the event was “collaboration” so that entrepreneurial ideas can become effective new projects, which allow business development.
In order to favour mutual awareness and matching between companies, following on from the success of the first edition on the occasion of the Start2Match event in Zurich, the Best Project Award was reintroduced during the exhibition. During the day, the participating companies were given the task of introducing themselves and presenting their own projects, the end intention being to receive votes based on acceptance and appreciation of their projects. The winners received a sculpture produced by the famous scuptor from Salento, Vito Mele, and the inclusion of their project in the next issue of Start2Business Magazine, as well as in the digital version on the www.s2bmagazine.com website.
The winner in the SME category was the Pistoia based company Giorgio Tesi Group, a leader in Europe in the nursery sector for ornamental plant production. The jury and the public particularly appreciated the company's strong propensity towards the European and non-European markets, and its commitment to promoting the importance of spreading the culture, traditions and tourism of Italy, the "Bel Paese". From this viewpoint the company contributes to exporting Italian attractions and culture around the world.
As far as the Startup category is concerned the award was won by the company Egenera srl, which on the occasion of the Start2Match event presented its innovative ERAISE System, an advanced system of real-time monitoring and management of electrical charges. The avant-garde solutions dedicated to generating and saving energy, and respect and protection of the environment impressed the voting public, who appreciated the benefits of this new technology from the point of view both of its environmental friendliness and its cost cutting aspects.
Second and third places in the SME category went to Village Italia and the Riflessometro Project, and to Ispirata e Treîs srl for the Start-up category.
A special award by the jury for the promotion at international level of the Umbria region's territory was presented to the town of Gualdo Tadino, which thanks to its spirit of initiative showed how to interpret the development of demand by implementing strategies similar to good entrepreneurial logic to create a product system. The award was delivered by the Prefect of the district of Fribourg to the delegation from the town's Administration represented by Councillors Maria Paola Gramaccia and Fabio Viventi.
The award ceremony ended with a special acknowledgement to all the business women who participated in the event and who were presented with an exclusive gift created by the brilliant Umbrian craftsman Emilio Agostinelli.
“Start2Match's matching does not end here today in Fribourg” announced Vincenzo Caci in his closing address for the event, “It continues online on the dedicated platform www.start2match.com, where participants at the exhibition and new users can constantly meet, in a spirit of Matching without End”.
